SAFE AF-3000 MOB Rescue Davit

Launching and recovering a rescue boat safely in rough weather conditions requires more than lifting capacity alone. The equipment must operate reliably under dynamic loads, vessel motions and emergency situations where functionality cannot be compromised.

For this project, Kverneland Aqua delivered a complete AF-3000 MOB Rescue Davit system designed for safe deployment and recovery of rescue boats in accordance with international maritime requirements. The scope included engineering, fabrication, hydraulics, winch systems, controls, testing and documentation prior to delivery. The davit was manufactured for installation onboard a newbuild vessel under construction at VARD Braila.

The project demonstrates the integration of structural steel fabrication, hydraulic engineering, marine lifting technology and regulatory compliance into a complete vessel handling system.

Scoope Of Work

The AF-3000 MOB Rescue Davit project illustrates Kverneland Aqua’s capability to deliver complete marine handling systems from engineering and fabrication through testing and documentation. By combining structural steel fabrication, hydraulics, controls and offshore-quality manufacturing, the project resulted in a fully integrated rescue boat launch and recovery solution prepared for operation onboard a modern vessel.

Davit Design & Fabrication

Engineering and fabrication of the AF-3000 davit structure manufactured from high-strength structural steel, including pivot arrangement, lifting sheaves, hydraulic cylinder systems and integrated boat cradle.

Hydraulic Systems

Design and assembly of the hydraulic power unit, hydraulic piping and control systems required for launch, recovery and emergency operations. The system included stainless steel hydraulic tank, pumps, valves and emergency functions.

Hydraulic Rescue Boat Winch

Supply of a dedicated hydraulic winch with fail-safe braking system, planetary gearbox, motion control valves and certified non-rotating wire rope designed for controlled lifting and lowering operations.

Control & Safety Systems

Installation of operational control stations, emergency stop functions, pressure monitoring, emergency lowering capability and radio remote-control functionality to improve operational safety and flexibility.

Testing & Verification

Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), overload testing and functional verification of the complete davit system prior to shipment, ensuring compliance with applicable safety requirements and operational performance criteria.
